The first, but hardly the last...

Well now here it is my first post in my first ever blog

-Smashs a virtual bottle of wine against the prow of the ship-

I hope this will be a fruitful endeavor in kick starting my creativity after quite a long stint away, by giving myself somewhere to document my progress in creating various custom content for Neverwinter Nights 2.

Most who will visit this place will no doubt be already familiar with it, but if your not, its a PC based computer game made by Obsidian Entertainment as a sequel to the hugely successful Dungeons & Dragons 3.0 based game by Bioware called Neverwinter Nights, which despite having been released a staggering 8 years ago, is still going strong thanks to it's community of creative talent who continue to produce top notch, regular material for it.

Recently (as of a week ago) however, Bioware shutdown the old NWN forums forcing many of us to either migrate to their woefully inadequate Social Boards (a Facebook wanna be with little charm, but at least they accommodated us, since NWN1 is legacy, and NWN2 wasnt made by Bioware) or find other community based locations to continue to post and contribute to the games as a community. This had many panicking, and a few even saying it might lead to the swan song of the games overall community. Being one who hadn't been active on the old boards for a good 3 years it came as quite a shock, and I was lucky to have found out before it shut it's doors for the last time, and yes you can become quite attached to a forum given enough time.

Despite that unforeseen set back I think the NWN1/2 creative community will be around for another 8 years, well, maybe not that long, many have come and gone, and some espoused that for them it would be their opportunity to bow out. But hey lets be optimistic Baldurs Gate modding is still going well even after 12 years, and we still have the  Vault after all and it isnt going anywhere, anytime soon.

Long may the Neverwinter Nights community continue, in what ever form or place that maybe... there's still alot of life in the old dog yet.

As for the blog this will evolve over time as I apply a more personal touch and tweak it here and there.

Until next time.
